The Bhagavad Gita is a conversation between Krishna and Arjuna at the battle of Kurukshetra, where a great war was about to take place between two cousin brothers, the Kauravas and the Pandavas. Arjuna was reluctant to fight against his own relatives and friends and sought advice from Krishna.
Krishna did not want to incite Arjun to war and bloodshed through this discourse of The Bhagavad Gita. Krishna wanted to guide Arjuna to perform his duty as a warrior and maintain the principles of dharma or righteousness.
